Scenario #6

What if a student just blurts out to me "Are you gay?!" I don't want to deny that I'm gay, but I also don't want to flaunt the fact that I'm gay to the students.

Ask them is thats a respectful way to ask someone that, and if its a suitable time to even be asking it. Don't deny it, but also remember you have a personal life and don't need to get into it in class if you don't wish. They should know that there is a time and place to discuss anything and the class isn't always that place

Maybe you could explain to the students that there is an appropriate time and place to discuss such topics. Explain to them that this is time for teaching and that is not an appropriate discussion.

I agree there should be a level of respect established and if a student out right disregards that then they should be delt with accordingly. Either removed and then spoken to outside of the class or, if appropriate, taken aside spoken to at that moment.
